Selected safety projects from federal, military, and industrial jobsites.
HIT Safety Solutions Ltd. is built on decades of safety experience on federal, military, and industrial projects. Below are selected locations where our founder has provided safety leadership as a Naval Battalion Safety Officer and a civilian Prime Contractor Safety Manager.

Role: Safety Manager – Borton LC, Prime General Contractor
Served as Safety Supervisor/ Manager for the prime general contractor, Borton LC, on a multi-year demolition and reconstruction program at the Scotts fertilizer and process facility. Managed safety for multiple cranes, including one of the largest cranes in North America, and supported a heavy-lift helicopter plan for removing and installing dust system components. The project involved nearly every major construction hazard—demolition, steel erection, scaffolding, welding and cutting, hot work, respirator program, confined spaces, excavation, heavy equipment, electrical work, and extensive fall protection on a tall multi-story plant. High-production manufacturing environment, provided daily inspections, AHA/JHA development, subcontractor oversight, and coordination with plant operations to keep work safe and compliant with
OSHA 1910/1926.

Role: Safety Manager – Borton LC, Prime General Contractor
Served as Safety Manager for the prime general contractor, Borton LC, on heavy industrial construction at a cement facility, including slip-form construction of new concrete silos. The silos were built using a continuous 24/7 concrete pour with approximately 27 hydraulic jacks for each silo, raising the formwork as the walls went up, requiring tight coordination and high-hazard controls. Managed safety for all subcontractors, supported critical lift planning and rigging inspections, and maintained exclusion zones and safe operations around active process equipment.

Role: Naval Battalion Safety Officer – U.S. Navy Seabees
Served as Naval Battalion Safety Officer for U.S. Navy Seabees at Camp Mitchell, Rota, Spain, with responsibility for safety across multiple construction sites on base, off base, and at detachments in Europe and Africa. My office oversaw safety for projects including a new medical facility, large-scale beach restoration, replacement of major water lines on the main side of the naval base, warehouse and building construction at the naval docks, and well-drilling projects in Senegal, Africa. I developed the battalion’s first formal crane lift plans and excavation plans since World War II, traveled site to site in a Humvee performing inspections and coaching, and supported hazard analysis, training, and program development for Seabee crews working in diverse and often remote environments.

Role: Naval Battalion Safety Officer – U.S. Navy Seabees
Oversaw safety for Seabee construction projects on the main side of Naval Station Rota, Spain, including large-scale excavation and replacement of primary water lines serving the base. Managed traffic control and road closures on active military roads, coordinated with Spanish Navy and U.S. Navy personnel, and performed continuous site inspections and coaching to keep crews working safely around utilities, heavy equipment, and base operations.

Role: Naval Battalion Safety Officer – U.S. Navy Seabees
Provided safety oversight for Seabee construction work at the naval docks in Rota, including new warehouse and support building construction along active piers. Conducted inspections and hazard analysis around ships, cranes, and heavy equipment, and coordinated with port operations to maintain safe access, fall protection, and exclusion zones while work was performed in a multi-employer, high-traffic waterfront environment.

Role: Naval Battalion Safety Officer – U.S. Navy Seabees
As Naval Battalion Safety Officer at Naval Station Rota, Spain, I supported Seabee beach restoration projects that used scrapers, dozers, and other heavy equipment to reshape and maintain the shoreline. The work helped protect base housing and infrastructure from ongoing erosion. My role included hazard analysis and field inspections in the surf zone, monitoring changing tides and ground conditions, coaching operators on rollover prevention and safe travel routes, and coordinating with base personnel to keep both Seabee crews and beach users safe during operations.
